NEW YORK – September 8, 2022 – Industry-leading ticket pricing and distribution company Automatiq announced the addition of a new Chief Technology Officer, George Thomas. “I couldn’t be more excited to have George join the Automatiq team. George brings tremendous depth with a proven track record of releasing world-class technology. This will help us in our mission to provide best-in-class technology to our rapidly growing customer base.”
– Sam Sherman, CEO

This latest investment is the first step in a significant expansion of the Automatiq engineering team and marks an important milestone in the advancement of Automatiq’s Sync processing and Uptick pricing products. George will partner with Chief Product Officer, Drew Gainor, on upgrading and advancing the company’s core products as well as the development of brand new ones.

Most recently, George was Vice President of Engineering at Workiva, where he led product innovation and engineering excellence within the company. Before this role, George held leadership positions at other leading technology organizations like Global Payments, Red Hat, SGI, Adobe Workfront, and Hewlett-Packard Enterprise. For over twenty years, George has led teams across a variety of industries spanning from high-performance supercomputing, SaaS, financial services and FinTech, open-source software, and enterprise services. As an active technology industry professional, he serves on the Mountainland Applied Technology College for Software Curriculum Advisory Committee, has published several academic papers, and has a patent pending for the U.S. Department of Energy and of Advanced Scientific Computing Research around exascale computing and energy management. George holds a bachelor’s degree and MBA from Western Governors University and joins the Automatiq team from the Salt Lake City area, where he lives with his wife and three children.

George’s extensive experience leading engineering teams to solve complex problems and deliver best-in-class product innovations aligns with Automatiq’s vision for continued product innovation focused on delivering beautiful user experiences, intuitive new features, and unparalleled performance. Since joining Automatiq in July, George has led the engineering organization through several initiatives that have enhanced operational efficiencies and streamlined development operations and quality control.
